Website Updates @www.betterinsulation.com

We now have listings from contractors and manufacturers on 4 Continents and 11 countries. We have listings in 46 states in the U.S. We would like to thank everyone for their support as we spread the good word about non-carcinogenic products available as alternative insulating materials. We have been instrumental in welcoming 8 new alternative insulation contractors to the industry since the last newsletter. These in areas that sorely needed contractors.

We now give leads to contractors and manufacturers daily from visitors to the site that are building homes or want to get into the business. It is amazing the number of people who study the site and are introduced to alternative insulation for the first time and absolutely put a halt to construction until they can get a quote from a new insulation contractor from the site. We are proud of this accomplishment. Every home that is not insulated with fiberglass batting and is insulated with Better Insulation goes far towards reducing pollution, environmental carcinogens, and saving energy for decades to come.

Because of the fact that good contractors are not highly concentrated in most areas, we have had to ask some of our members to travel quite far to service requests for better insulation. We are also proud to say that Better Insulation Contractors and Manufacturers are rising to meet the needs of this site's inquiring visitors admirably and we appreciate it, as do the customers.

We’ve added some website promotion tools for you to use on your own websites. Especially good is http://bounty.bighits.net/index.cgi?10624169 . If you have your own web site you really should use this. It may not bring you much business locally, but it will expose your site to people all over the world and go 50% farther in spreading the word… If you do your part for general public education, it will come back to you in real business… There’s comprehensive Internet marketing tools available at the bottom of the contractor and manufacturer search page.

 New Advertisers/Supporters:

Energy Savers of America – offers a line of products that can be used in conjunction with your present business to increase your ability to offer maximum energy efficiency and some products to make your jobs a bit easier Like professional grade spray foams, etc. Visit their site for more info: www.btubusters.com

Insulsure Incorporated -- Manufacturers of the Attic Tent, which is a attic stairs insulation product that is really good and so inexpensive, many contractors are giving them away as referral bonuses to customers and added value sales incentives. (see marketing tips) www.insulsure.com

J & M Distributing – offers non-profit organizations, clubs, schools and churches a way to earn 400% profit on an excellent fundraiser. If you belong to a group that raises funds or know someone who does, refer them to J & M at www.pizzacards.com

Advertisers help us promote this site and develop more public education and marketing aids.

We appreciate their support. Please support our sponsors.

In The Works:

Due to expressed interest, we are adding an "Equipment for Sale or Wanted" area to the site. We tried one of those bulletin board scripts, but they don't seem to attract attention very well. As you all know, it is our personal attention to detail, providing full page custom listings and the like that help make this site what it is, so, we will follow what works and add the personal touch to this area. If you have equipment for sale or need equipment, just contact us for listing information. We prefer photos of the equipment if you are selling and a good description with phone number to contact you. You can have a photo put on disk at most Pharmacies or photo places for about $3.00 so you can email it to us from your computer.

When this feature area is up, we will send everyone a special announcement email. So, please get your listings in soon. We must charge 5% of the listed price (pay when it sells) to help support the site. So the listing is free unless it sells. We pay a lot of money out in promotional costs, which is what will get your truck or equipment sold. This is not a free site to operate. We are getting over 2000 hits per day now as of the past 3 days. That's 60,000 hits a month. That costs money and we all agree we have something important to say here. Thank you for your support.

We are also entertaining relationships with suppliers of supporting products, such as hoses, staples, canned foam, installation equipment, new trucks, etc... and looking for suppliers who will give you a discount as an ABI member so we can put up a "store front" on the site where you can purchase the consumable products you use every day and equipment at a discount through collective purchasing. If you have a good supplier, please notify them of our interest in this area. Collective buying and selling benefits both the seller and the buyer. Know your supplier's email? Click here to send this newsletter to them.

Of course, we have to keep saying it... if you have your own site, link to this site! Get it to work for you... you're missing out on a lot of business if you don't. That's plain truth.

If you don’t have a website, or would like yours revamped, let us know… we offer tremendous discounts to Cellulose Contractors for professional design services (Contractor websites $299), hosting ($15.99 a month), and search engine submission (free when we design your site or you change your hosting service over to us) domain name registration through us is only $9.00 per year… Call 270.842.4658 to discuss …or drop an email and we’ll call you…Ed.)

Marketing Tips: Ways to Spread the Word

EVERYBODY NEEDS A BIG CALLING CARD TO LEAVE WITH THE CUSTOMER TO HELP THEM REMEMBER REFERRING... and a sales tool that actually adds to the total reduction of your customer's utility bill AND sure does make your insulation job that much more memorable each month. When you order the Insulsure Attic Tent and personalize them with your company name, address and phone number with a sticker on the underside of the door, you've got something better then a refrigerator magnet!

Offer them as sales bonuses to customers...

"We even go the extra step and install an attic door tent that keeps any dust and heat out of your house from the attic stairs. No extra charge, Mr. and Mrs. Jones, of course."

Or give them as referral bonuses. In all reality, they should be standard insulation products. Think about it, people spend money on the best insulation, but leave the attic stairway door un-insulated. You are the pros. It's up to you to finish the whole insulation job by insulating the stairway door. Just makes sense and the fact you can personalize these things easily with your company info, keeps your information at hand for them to send referrals to.

----------

The Short and Sweet: If you are a contractor or manufacturer and have a web site and it doesn't link Back to this site, you are losing business. A lot of you write in and ask how to do this. Who ever made or administers your web site is the one who has to do it. We can administer your site and do it if you host your site with us. Some of you had your sites done years ago and the person is gone. We can host it and administer it and even work on it for you. We don't charge a set up fee or anything, just $15.99 a month for hosting and we can transfer your site and all that. Just let us know. We also make sure it's search engine friendly and submit it to search engines for you at no extra charge. If you want a lot of work done to your site (revamped) or a new one, it cost only $299 to contractors. A bargain, for sure.

Running for Cover – More protective bankruptcies in the news.

USG Reorganization Plans

According to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission,

USG Corp. intends to file a plan of reorganization with the U.S. Bankruptcy

Court that would--among other things--establish a trust to pay an estimated

amount of over $1 billion in asbestos lawsuit settlement claims . The

Company's filing states that it currently has only $76.3 million in

insurance funds to cover the claims. The Company further stated that as a

result of the creation of this trust, the Court would issue a permanent

injunction to channel all asbestos related claims directly in to the trust,

meaning that the reorganized company would be not be liable for any pending

or future asbestos claims.

~ This Week's Reader Submitted Article ~

(This week’s article provided by Konstantin Yelizarov, of Jupiter Insulation, Russia’s oldest promoter of cellulose and foams. A progressive company interested in forming alliances with international companies for the purpose of import and export or technology exchange.)

Thank you very much for your support to my company and the products mentioned on your website.

I'd like to share my experience that may be interesting to somebody else.

Three times we did jobs to remove condensate in the living rooms of the buildings. (By condensate I mean the water in the air after the cooling).

In all three cases the condensate appears in the attics. The insulation was placed just under the roof. The penopolystirol was used as insulation material. There was a problem with insulation. The warm air through the gaps came to the cold roof and water dropped to the floor through the ceilings. It is very cold in winter here and steam is used much for heating, which creates moisture problems.

We were asked to solve the problem without interrupting the technological process in the building. We solved the problem by using the cellulose insulation. We were able to push the hose inside the wall and fill the gaps by cellulose insulation under the air pressure.

In all three cases the condensate disappeared. This was a good introduction for Russia businesses to use cellulose insulation. This was a big problem not solved with other insulation.

Best regards,

Konstantin Yelizarov

THIS FROM REUTERS NEWS SERVICE:

WOULD YOU LIKE A 17 INCH SCREEN WITH THAT? In addition to the usual items at the McDonald's in Tel Aviv, Israel, you can get mice. No, not the cute, furry kind, but a mouse for your computer. In addition, people can surf the Internet for $2 per 20 minutes while they eat their burger. "It reflects the lifestyle of youngsters in Israel and in the world -- to eat fast food and use the Internet at the same time," said a McDonald's Israel spokesman. The restaurant is also starting to offer software from Microsoft. (Reuters) Will we see McInternet Explorer?
