I am an insulation contractor & just found your website. I have been in the insulation business for over 14 years. I have a have seen many insulation contractors in my area that use celouse insulation in new home construction. First of all if the insulated my home i would refuse to close. The information you are providing for the general public is tainted with your own need to sell a product. Your information is false & misleading. Unless you have insulatd for as long I have & seen the trends come & go. I sujest you tell the whole truth. Celouse settles over a period of time & this includes exterior walls as well as ceilings. You knock a product to sell your own & refer homeowners to use your product. Strange i here the same from a company in my town yet when he is ready to insulate a crawl space i see nothing but fiberglass. Second if fiberglass insulation is installed properly you will not have gaps & Voids. Next you suggest we are only after profitt. Strange Celouse cost less to insulate the same home vs fiberglass yet the cost to the contractor or homeowner is equal to or greater than the cost of fiberglass.

Please if your web page is going to knock git your story straight.

Hello Mr. Rymer,

Thank you for your input.

The only way this site knocks fiberglass as an insulator is based on real r-value. It simply isn't as good according to Oak Ridge Labs and many government studies... and if you did two identical houses side by side, one with Cellulose and one with Fiberglass and monitored utility bills for 5 years or 10 years, you know as well as I that the Cellulose bills would be less. I appreciate your dedication to doing a good installation job using batts. It's not an easy thing to do, and a great majority of time the installation isn't done as well as it could be. Even though that is fact, it is not my main concern, personally.

That is actually a minor contention. My main problem with fiberglass is that it isn't safe for the installer. If you have been installing fiberglass for 14 years, I truly hope you are prepared for the likelihood of cancer in the next decade or so. Fibers are now found in a sufficient concentration to cause health problems in the general population throughout the world, even on Mount Everest.

I don't like to see the commercials on TV that try to get you to buy a certain brand of asthma inhaler because 1 out of 5 kids in school now need them.

That is my main beef with the product. Also, I don't sell anything but advertising space and promote a healthy alternative to humanity, to which I feel a responsibility.

I have personal experience with the devastation this product can cause in the human body.

My facts are right, correct, and fully documented by scientific and government studies. It's the best way to educate the public to the reality of the dangers of this product as far as I'm concerned. Anything can be an insulator. Put dried cow manure in a wall and it'll be insulated. It may not smell good, but it won't kill you. Fiberglass can. We promote a better alternative.

That's what I'm really concerned with. What is your knowledge on the safety of fiberglass? I suggest you seriously consider the information available. It's real and so is the danger you are putting yourself, your installers, and your customers in. 

I remain concerned for you and your workers. Really, and will pray for your enlightenment and safety. When you tire of itching, coughing up blood, and gain a conscience, I will be more than happy to aid you in transitioning your company to Better Insulation.
